MR3 Longhorn Ranch

E-Mail MR3 Ranch

"It's not the ranch's job to produce what the cow needs to perform.....

It's the cow's job to perform on what the ranch can best provide!!"

That's just one of many reasons I choose the Texas Longhorn over any other breed. Browse utilization, Calving ease, temperament, disease resistance, longevity and good tasting lean meat. Not to mention there beauty. Each one unique and elegant, one of a kind, created by God and shaped by nature. The goal at MR3 Ranch is to selectively breed to produce a superior breed of Texas Longhorn.    ( With long, thick, continues horns!!! )

"The great bulls are expressed through their progeny". MR3 Highway Rebel, sired by the two time horn show case winner Rebel Red and his dam Highway girl out of a Grand world Champion is proving just that, to be a great bull! His first calves have shown his potential. All are showing his great disposition and good conformation. Of the 15 cows bred to him, 4 heifers went over 48" and 2 over 50" TTT by 24 months. Of the 15 cows only one had over 60" of horn and all but one had a heifer calf. Some of his heifers are over 40" at 16 months. He drops the horns down on all of them and increases the diameter. His daughters are good milkers too! I have a lot of well known high dollor bulls in my tank, but the one doing the best job is standing out back in the mud and snow.  Take a Look at some of his Heifers on the 2004 Heifers page. > ( It's just more fun to grow the ones with lots of horn! )  A limited amount of Semen is available! $25 per straw!

"Longevity = Less replacements, more calves, more profit! Rachel at age 17 still dresses up for a day of cleaning the drive. ( "For the occasion, she adorns a horn woven wad of purple flowered Vetch. A sumptuous complement to her lavish Blue Roan hide. )

Conformation: Selectively breeding to achieve conformity without sacrificing disposition, horn, and color.  MR3 Rebel Girl below is a good example with her 2008 heifer calf out of JBR CASH, a two time Horn Showcase Champion. Take a look at her yearling bull MR3 Bo Jangles out of Victory Lap.
